MRMAT 2K17 (Musically Recognized Martial Arts Tournament) a fighting video game based on a real Martial Arts Tournament created in 2005. The video game has real Martial Artists character and fighting movement. The tournament was initially created to give Martial Arts bigger cash prizes and recognition for their skills/ability. The first tournament was held in the Bronx, New York. The second tournament was held in New York, New York and the third in San Antonio, Texas. Each tournament gave out $ 5000 in cash prizes to the grand-champion, trophies to all winners and promotional gift bags to all competitors with items from Def-Jam and Interscope Records. The tournament was not successful in obtain sponsorship for the cash prize, each tournament was funded by the creator. Due to lack on sponsorship the tournament was not able to continue on an annual basis. Since coming up with the concept there was difficulties for people understanding that the Music and Martial Arts Tournament was meant to be a positive. We wanted to create an event that children, teens, and adults want to come too. There was difficulties with major music artists supporting the event due to them wanting money to be apart of it. Due to the difficulties we have made the tournament into a game to get people to see the vision.
